Dog Theft Awareness Day (14th March 2024)

If you own a dog, we understand how precious it is to you. So now might be a good time to check out some of these top tips for helping to prevent dog theft.
DON’T
• Leave your dog outside a shop.
• Let your dog out of sight during a walk.
• Leave a dog unattended in a vehicle – particularly on hot days with closed windows.
DO
• Double check your dog’s microchip registration details are correct as unregistered dogs can be rehomed after 7 days.
• Make sure your garden, house and outside kennels are secure.
• Check your home’s gates, lighting and think about CCTV.
• Be careful who can see your pet’s photos on social media.
• Change your walk times and routes regularly.
