How close should your blinds be to the window?

Hang blinds close to the window (25-50mm from the glass) when installing inside the recess as a snug fit minimises cold air space. But ensure they don't catch on handles or stick to condensation.

Maximum insulation and condensation reduction
For optimal insulation from your Boeboes Roman blind, installing it close to the window helps minimise temperature differences between the glass and the room, reducing condensation build-up.

Blackout effect
However, for optimal blackout effect, hang the blind over or outside the window recess with at least a 10cm border on all sides. Position the blind close to the wall to avoid it protruding into the room.

Usable windowsill space
When hanging blinds inside the window recess, place them closer to the glass for more usable windowsill space. If the windowsill is frequently used, consider hanging the blinds over or outside the recess to prevent knocking over ornaments etc.
